Become an Accredited Management Organization (AMO®)

The Accredited Management Organization (AMO) accreditation is awarded to those select firms who meet the standards of excellence in professional education, experience, ethics, and business and financial stability set by the Institute of real Estate Management (IREM). The AMO accreditation is the only recognition given to real estate management firms.

Achievement of the accreditation is a key step toward global recognition of your firm as an outstanding and dependable real estate management organization. Your AMO accreditation is the mark of distinction that sets you apart from your competition and presents greater opportunities for both financial and professional success.

As an AMO, you will become part of an elite group of management firms whose proven foundation is based on dedication, experience, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Nearly half of AMO Firms have been in business for more than 20 years, and more than 80% have been established for at least a decade.
  • Because AMO Firms must be directed and supervised by a Certified Property Manager (CPM), your clients and investors can trust that your Organization is in the hands of a demonstrated leader.
  • Only 520 real estate management firms hold this prestigious accreditation, yet manage a significant segment of the nation’s real estate – more than $123 billion in assets, over 1 million residential units, and nearly 550 million square feet of commercial space.
  • AMO Firms are apart of a global association that includes officers, owners, partners, and department heads of expert real estate management-related businesses and financial institutions. Your firm will benefit from the exchange of invaluable information that can only come through association with high-level professionals.
  • The AMO accreditation and your pledge to abide by the enforced Minimum Standards and Code of Ethics of the Accredited Management Organization Demonstrate your commitment and integrity to those who matter most – our clients and investors.
